The Egg 2 Carrycot is the ultimate cozy nest for newborns and infants up to 9kg, it comes as standard in most Egg 2 pram bundle deals, you want want o learn more about the Egg 2 pram you can read our full review here. As first-time parents, my partner and I were impressed by the generous size and comfort of the carrycot. The ergonomic release lever at the head end made it so easy for us to click the carrycot securely onto and off of the chassis. We also love the ventilation window and peek-a-boo flap - it provided airflow on hot days and let us sneak a peek at our sleeping baby! The lining, mattress, rain cover and adjustable hood gave our little one a perfect environment no matter the conditions. We found the carrycot to be such a lifesaver during the newborn stage.

Pros:

  • Spacious and comfortable for babies up to 9kg
  • Ergonomic release lever makes attaching/detaching easy
  • Ventilation window allows airflow
  • Lining, mattress, raincover included
  • Adjustable hood protects from sun

Cons:

  • Carrycot and accessories sold separately
  • Large size may be bulky for some

Egg 2 Backpack

The Egg 2 Backpack is by far my favorite accessory for our Egg 2! As a busy mom, I absolutely need a practical, stylish diaper bag and this one is perfect. I love all the pockets and compartments that keep me organised, we tend to keep it full of extras such as wipes in case were in need in any emergency baby or pram mattress cleans.

The included changing pad has been a life-saver for diaper changes on-the-go. My favorite feature is the insulated bottle storage that keeps our baby's milk warm when we're out and about, and the shoulder straps and stroller straps make it so easy to carry everything I need with the pushchair. This backpack was one of the handiest accessories for maximizing our use of the Egg 2.

Pros:

  • Lots of compartments keep items organized
  • Insulated bottle storage keeps milk warm
  • Changing pad included for diaper changes
  • Padded straps and stroller straps for easy carrying

Cons:

  • Backpack's size may be too large for some
  • Additional cost to purchase

Egg 2 Footmuff

We live in a area with cold winters, so the Egg 2 Footmuff has been an essential accessory for our baby. The soft, cozy lining keeps her warm and comfortable in the Egg seat during chilly weather. I really appreciate that it allows full use of the harness - safety is a top priority even when she's bundled up. The side zipper makes getting my daughter in and out of the footmuff simple and quick. We got so much more use out of our pushchair thanks to this footmuff keeping her toasty warm. It's been one of my favourite "must-haves" for the Egg 2. One thing we did notice is it can be difficult to clean, therefore we'd recommend getting some sort of liner.

Pros:

  • Plush lining keeps baby warm in cold weather
  • Allows full use of safety harness
  • Side zipper for easy access to baby
  • Extends usefulness of pushchair in winter

Cons:

  • Limits visibility and access to baby
  • Can cause overheating indoors or in warm weather

Egg 2 Tandem Accessories

As our family expanded to two kids, the ability to convert the Egg 2 to a tandem pushchair has been invaluable. My toddler loves getting to sit front-facing while my baby is still rear-facing. The adaptors were easy for my husband and I to securely click into place to create different tandem arrangements. When we want to take them both out in Egg car seats, the lower multi car seat adaptors securely attached both infant carriers - giving us a very handy double travel system. Going from single to double has allowed us to continue getting great use from our Egg 2 through multiple children. These tandem accessories helped save us money as our family grew.

Pros:

  • Allows two children to be pushed together
  • Lets older child face forward while baby faces back
  • Adaptors easy to install different configurations
  • Lower adaptors secure two infant car seats

Cons:

  • Makes pushchair longer and harder to maneuver
  • Extra cost to purchase adaptors
  • Heavy with two kids and more gear

Egg Car Seat Isofix Base

Egg Isofix car seat base

In our experience, the Egg Car Seat Isofix Base has proven to be a reliable and essential accessory for the Egg Shell i-Size car seat. We found that it provides a secure and straightforward installation of the car seat in our vehicle, ensuring our child's safety during travel. The Isofix base anchors to the Isofix points in our car, making it easy for us to clip in the car seat with our baby in it, without needing to rely on our car’s seat belt. This gave us peace of mind knowing the car seat is positioned correctly, keeping our child as safe as possible.

We appreciated that the base is compatible with the Egg Shell car seat, and it allowed us to make quick transitions from the car to the travel system and back again. We also found it reassuring that the Egg Shell car seat conforms to the latest i-Size regulations, which are based on a child's height rather than weight. This ensured a comfortable fit and optimal safety for our child.

One thing we noticed was the ease of installation. The Egg Shell Isofix Base was simple and quick to install. We just had to pop the base onto our vehicle seat, extend the Isofix arms, and guide them to the Isofix points until they clicked on. The indicator on top changing from orange to green was a clear sign that the installation was successful.

However, we did find that the buttons to release the Isofix arms are quite small and flat to the seat, so they can be a bit difficult to get a hold of and pull back. But on the positive side, this means that the Isofix base won't be inadvertently uninstalled, which adds to the safety aspect.

Pros:

  • Provides a secure and straightforward installation of the car seat in the vehicle.
  • Anchors to the Isofix points in the car, making it easy to clip in the car seat without needing to rely on the car’s seat belt.
  • Compatible with the Egg Shell car seat, allowing for quick transitions from the car to the travel system and back again.
  • The Egg Shell car seat, which is used with the base, conforms to the latest i-Size regulations, ensuring a comfortable fit and optimal safety for the child.
  • The installation process is simple and quick, with a clear indicator changing from orange to green to signify successful installation.

Cons:

  • The buttons to release the Isofix arms are quite small and flat to the seat, which can make them a bit difficult to get a hold of and pull back.
  • Requires Isofix points for installation. If your car doesn't have Isofix points, you'll need to secure the car seat using the vehicle's seat belt, which might not be as convenient.
  • Can only be used as long as your child fits into the Egg Shell car seat, which is typically up to around 18 months old, depending on the child's height. After this, you'll need to purchase a new car seat and potentially a new base.
